They have called me 16 times in the last 40 days. I have never had a student loan in my entire life of 68 years. I told them I was on the National and State Do Not Call Lists and to cease calling me and the customer rep hung up on me. Lot of good that did telling them...

My student loans were previously serviced by the U.S. Department of Education. During this time, I always knew exactly what my monthly payment would be, when it was due, and when it had been successfully made. Against my will and without my consent, my loans were...

I called to see if I could get a lower payment gave my income and was told I qualified for $0 a month payment. Send in the paper work and my monthly payment more than tripled. Problem being the person I spoke to didn't put in the income I gave him but half that amount. I am so not pleased. So for lack of the associate listening made my payments higher

I made the paymets, but it takes long time to go into action! It is so obvious that they are taking their time to make money from the interest!

Concerning another posting: Same thing happened to me concerning negative credit reporting, however in my case it was a bait and switch tactic. "Deferment" is the term Nelnet tells their customer service to sell people on that may need breathing room for financial...

Nelnet - False and/or inaccurate information about amount due.
Website showed amount due $0.00 because I always pay more than the minimum. Then I received an email saying I was past due by a certain amount. Then a second email with a completely different amount. Customer service at Nelnet said I didn't pay the minimum amount,...

You don't have to pay the tax bill. Do a google search for "insolvency on discharged debt taxes". It's easy. Just attach a form to your 1040.

That is the IRS. Any time loans are discharged, the IRS imposes taxes on the amount that was forgiven.
