Nelnet - Screwed up my auto payment
Nelnet managed to screw up my auto payment (saying that no payment was due, then going ahead and debiting anyways) which caused me to have a large overdraft on an old account. When I called to complain, their rude customer service basically said "sucks to be you" and blamed me for the problem.
They literally had the audacity to say "since you agreed to auto debit 10 years ago, it's your fault." This is a bad company and you should avoid doing business with them whenever possible. I will look to move my students loans to another company as soon as possible.
Monetary Loss: $40.

I was told my forbearance was approved - so was sickened to find the payment drafted out of my account - leaving NSF for rent. The agent said there wasn't enough time for them to stop the processing, but could not explain why I wasn't told - because I could have stopped the draft thru my bank.
"unfortunately" their policy does not allow for the payment to be refunded - so easy for them to say - they don't now have late rent with the next pay day 2 wks away, accruing late charges.
They are federal loan servicers who are supposed to help students - not hurt them. They don't care - more money for them.
